Attendance

The school's attendance policy follows the local authority guidelines.

Medical/Dental Appointments…

If your child has a medical/dental appointment please inform the school office in advance wherever possible, providing a copy of the appointment letter.  It would also be useful if parents/carers could write a note in the child(ren)’s school planner to alert the class teacher.

If your child is unwell…

To report that your child(ren) are not able to attend school as they are unwell, please telephone or email the school after 8.00am on each day of absence with details of the type of sickness.  This is required, so that we can accurately record the absence on your child’s attendance record.  If you telephone outside of the school office hours, there is an answerphone available for you to leave a message (Option 1).

Alternatively, you can email the school - enquiries@barrscourtps.org.uk

Authorised/Unauthorised Absence…

Leave of absence will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances and at the headteacher’s discretion.  Holiday absence will not be authorised.  Please refer to our Attendance Policy for further details.
