Applying for a Reception place

Thank you for thinking of sending your child to Barrs Court Primary School. We would highly recommend you come and look around and meet the team before applying. We publish the dates for our walk-arounds and drop-in stay & play sessions in September. However, If you are looking for a school place for your child(ren), we would welcome the opportunity to show you around our school and discuss how Barrs Court Primary School can support your child(ren)’s learning journey at any point in the year. Admissions Policy

Our policy for admissions follows that of the Local Authority guidelines.

The South Gloucestershire Council website contains information to help you in the initial stages of the application to primary school process.  We strongly advise you to read through the information on the website and in their Admissions Guide which can be downloaded below, before applying for a school place.

The Standard Admissions Entry Number for Barrs Court Primary School is 45. Where the demand for places exceeds the number of places which we have available, the places will be allocated according to page 25 of the admission guide.

Applying online is the simplest way to apply and also allows you to change your preferences up until the closing date which is 15th January prior to the year of admission for primary admissions. If you thinking of moving your child in-year please call the school and make an appointment to look around the schoo.
